We're Here!!
Thursday, November 22, 2007
We arrived today at around 11 in the morning. We were supposed to get here yesterday at around 6 pm. Let's just say, Don't fly anywhere that have to do with Newark Airport. It's evil!!! -=giggle=- The visit is going well so far. Dad and Lisa (Stepmom) seem to really like Grim and we're having a great time already!

Today is the Day!
Tuesday, November 20, 2007
In less than 8 hours I will be seeing my dad after an absence of over a year. I didn't think this day would every get here. The bonus is Grim is coming with me and after 4 years of dating him, he'll get to meet the other side of my family. I'm a little nervous about that. It's the first boyfriend I have ever brought to meet the dad, ya know? It should be interesting if anything.

Anyways, tell me what you think of the blog now that it's actually working. Tell me if it still looks jumbled on your computer. It shouldn't now because I had a little help fixing it. It turns out my counter was throwing the whole thing off. That's fixed now, so what do you think ?!?!

I just wanted to drop a quick line and let you know that I am heading out in a couple hours. I don't think I'll be blogging much until I get back. I will hopefully have pictures of a semi-completed Tree Jacket. I also started on something for a swap partner. I should have plenty to give me occupied on the plane.

Oh by the way, Here's the knitting related post from the other day. It sort of got swallowed.

And Here It Is!!!
Sunday, November 18, 2007
The blog is back up and running! Yeaahhh!! Doesn't it look nice? I'm so happy that I found one that didn't pan all the way to the right or left. This one is simple, non-emo and easy to fiddle with. If you notice anything that is off, please let me know. I'm still playing around with it.

Anyways, on with the show!

In the world of knitting, I have had to completely frog back the tree jacket. Apparently I am not trained enough in the ways of the ninja knitter style to know how to watch TV and knit at the same time. Or at least that night I didn't. I totally messed up the pattern. When I went to rip back it just went downhill from there. No biggy really. It did hurt to frog to the start again but I didn't want a sh*tty looking sweater. I did finish a pair of fingerless gloves. They're nice, not what I expected but nice. I swatched and the size was perfect.. so the only answer can be that I have smaller hands than the average adult.. That I didn't count on. So they are a little.. um.. what's the word... roomy. I adjusted them a little around the wrist by entwining yarn into the stitches and pulling it a little tighter. Here's a picture!

See what I mean, they just look a little bigger than me. So I'll just make sure to knit myself kid gloves from now on. -=giggle=- Also, I wanted to share a cute little action shot.

Not the best picture of me but Kiya was really interested in my glove knitting. -=giggle=- Other than that, I have been slowly working through my assorted projects. I haven't really felt up to knitting much. Somewhere along the line I really hurt my back. So I have been taking it easy and watching a lot of movies instead.

In other news, we head out on Tuesday!! I can't wait, it's going to be wonderful! So I'll probably be out of the loop for another week (sorry about the long leave of absence by the way). I'll be back with pictures from the trip and hopefully progress shots. I plan to get a lot of knitting done on my plane. Which reminds me, I need to cast on the Tree Jacket again or they're not gonna let me on with it. So outside of relaxing, we've been shopping and preparing for that, needless to say, it's been a reeeally busy weekend. Tomorrow I work and then I am off for 7 days. -=dances a happy jig=-

Well dears, I think that's all for now. I'm hoping to get another post in tomorrow but if I don't I will talk to you all soon. Sorry for being a bad blogger. Forgive me?

Lots to catch up on.
Thursday, July 12, 2007
Let me begin by first giving a much needed shout out to 4 ladies.

First to my Secret Pal, who has spoiled me rotten for the last three months. Elabeth, you are absolutely wonderful. Thank you for making my first swap perfect in every way!

Second, to my KTC Swap Partner, Athena Maria. Thank you soooo much for the Anita Blake book! I almost bought it when I was on vacation. I am glad I didn't. The bag is beautiful! The yarn is not scratchy at all and the stitch markers are wonderful. Seriously, they are the perfect size for the projects I am going to be working on! Here are pictures of th
e goodies!

Here's is a close up of the beautiful bag she made me!

Kiya liked it a little too much. I had to yell at her twice.

Next To Jane! I can't believe what beautiful things you sent me! I love everything you created for me and I want you to know that I appreciate them very much. You are a lovely person and thank you so much!

First off, the stickers are now all over my RPG folder. -=giggle=- I have a big smiley face on the binding of it! The washcloth is just wonderful. I love the smell of the soap! My favorite though are the hand embroidered napkins she made me. Recognize the cats ?

That's right, she made Kiya and Sigh! Aren't they cute! Grim loved them too!

Last but not least, Emily. I purchased some yarn from her before I left and when I got back it was waiting for me. Girl, you certainly know how to dye your yarn. The coloring is more beautiful than in the pictures! -=applauds=- I love it and if anyone wants nice yarn. Go to her store! That's an order. -=giggle=-

Now for vacation:

Grim, Pounce and I left around 6:30 on Wednesday morning. The drive was surprisingly easy to do. No traffic, not much bad weather. So we made it to my aunt's party in about 8 to 9 hours. It was nice seeing everyone again. It's been nearly 3 years since I have seen my aunts/uncles/cousins in Ohio. So we hung out, had food and chatted for a while. Then we went back to Grandma's house and relaxed for the remainder of the day. The next morning we were up bright and early and off to Columbus for Origins! Yeahhh! We had Learn to Hack - Hackmaster Introduction. It was an awesome class and we got free books to go home with! Yeahh! I rolled up a half-ogre all strength character. Pounce rolled up a Cleric and Grim had a magic user I believe. Then we hit the exhibit hall and went wild on purchasing. -=giggle=- Pounce and I also enrolled in Horror Gaming and Plot Forming. All three of us did a very unorganized leather working class and we played in an awesome Witchcraft (actual name of the RPG) game. I played a total power hungry bitch. Grim played a huge muscle type that ended up sacrificing himself for his sins. Pounce was a feral aka werewolf. Awesome game, that was based on Nightwatch (movie). We bought waaaay to many RPG books. -=giggle=- Well let me change that, I got a lot of game books. -=giggle=- Here's a photo of the overall purchasing.

My dice set is on the left. I went a little nuts. -=giggle=- My favorites are the original artwork products. The dice bag for example and the artwork in the back.

This is Grim's prized purchase. He bought an Origins 2007 Poker set after much deliberation on it.

We didn't game as much as we wanted too but we did meet up with some awesome people/gamers. Neight being one of the most awesome! He ended up hanging out with us for the majority of the time we were there. Talk about a great gamer! All in all it was a blast. We met great people and had a great time. I am going to post videos and pictures over the weekend but right now I am too tired to fiddle with resizing them. We left Sunday at around noon and for some reason it took us around 11 hour to get home. I slept half the way so I am not sure exactly what caused the delay.

Needless to say, with my vacation so packed, I only got two washcloths completed. I didn't read any books but that's okay. It was a wonderful adventure and I fully intend on going next year!

Oh almost forgot. Grim dared me to kiss the cheek of Mark ( One of the designers of Hackmaster). I wasn't going to do it, then Dave Kenzer (Head Designer of Hackmaster) told me he'd give me 5$ to do it. So, my not being one to run away from a dare. I planted a big ole' kiss on his cheek. When he asked me what that was for, I told him and he said.. . " Well I don't think you got me good enough to warrent 5 dollars." So I planted another one on his cheek, took my five dollars and went out to buy the Fairy painting. -=giggle=- Definitely my most memorable Origins experience.

Other than that lovelies. Grim and I have been tearing apart the apartment. We didn't have any place to store all the loot we got. So I went out and bought this:

To accommodate our growing RPG collection. -=giggle=- I am a dork. I know. Of course we also then ripped apart our other bookshelf to make it presentable. Next is the bedroom and the closet. Then I am going to spackle over some holes in the walls.

Anyone have any suggestions on nifty storage ideas for yarn ? I was thinking about keeping it all in the closet but I don't know if I like that idea. What does everyone else use ? I have VERY limited space.

Okay, I am done for tonight. This has taken me about an hour to write up. -=giggle=- Pictures and videos posted soon!

It's About Time!
Saturday, June 30, 2007

Life. I know, I know I have seriously been slacking lately. In my defense, I have been busy at work and with just about everything else. That's only the half truth though. While I have been working a lot, most of the time I am playing Eternal Darkness or knitting. Eternal Darkness will suck your brains out of your ear so that you will never move from the TV screen. I am getting in pretty deep, plot wise. At the moment, I am taking a break. I died, and screamed "F--- You" so loud that I gave myself a soar throat. Never a good sign when you get that into a video game.

Okay, new developments. I am going on vacation Wednesday, so I don't think I will be blogging too much until I get back. Where am I going ? To the best display of geek mentality in the world. Origins! -=does a dance=- I am going to come home with so many RPG books and dice that my car is going to drag on the ground. It's hopefully going to be a lot of fun. I know most of the area Origins is going to be in so it should be nice to revisit old spots. Grim and I renewed our lease for another year. We will not be moving after all. We took a look at
another apartment under the same management. Let's just say, Ewww sums it up very nicely. She literally kept her house like a pig pen. When you saw passed that, the apartment was really little. Everything else we looked at or called about was way out of our price range. Even with the increase of rent this place is still more affordable than anything else. We'll probably be looking again next year, but at least then we'll be better prepared.

On another note, my condition for resigning the lease was to do something about storage. Anyone know of cute ways to provide more storage. I have one closet and a couple little places I can stick things. =)

Knitting. I have finished the 2nd Secret Pal gift which I will reveal to you after I send it. I think it's cute but I hope she likes it. I also just need to get a couple more things for both Swaps and I am done. -=does a dance=- The Sci-Fi swap, I completely winged. She didn't seem to amped to disclose any details, so if she doesn't like what I got her. -=shrugs=- Not to sound mean, but it's not my problem. I seriously did my investigative work for this one. I tried my best. I am CO for my bathing suit. That is going to be my car project. I am also thinking about finding another small project in case I get bored and I have been entertaining the idea of trying my hand at sock knitting. We'll see though. -=giggle=-

Spinning. What spinning ? I did try again and the roving broke and I don't know how to put it back on. So I started hunting for spinning places on the web. I found one! There is a yarn store that has a night where the "Spin Doctor" comes in and answers and questions. That individual will also teach you how to spin if you get there first. So after vacation, I am running over there and demanding some answers as nicely as I can.
-=giggle=-

Reading. Check my reading blog. WARNING: Spoilers for Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix.

Games/Movies. Grim and I are still patiently waiting for the September release of Supernatural (Season 2). We have been entertaining ourself by playing the Wii and Aces & Eights shooting sessions. I just saw Tombstone for the first time. Good movie and I will admit I cried like a baby when Doc Holiday passed. Val Kilmer never ceases to amaze me. His range is so remarkable. Next movie on the list to see, 1408 and of course, Harry Potter.

Blogging.

and Ramblings of a Crafter

Alright ladies and gents. I am off to do something productive. Well not really. We're going to a 4th of July party today but before we do... we're going to a YARN STORE. -=does a dance=- So I have to go bounce on the bed and get Grim up so we can leave in time. -=hugs for all=-

Write more tomorrow!!
