Quick Blog
Thursday, August 9, 2007
Alright, let's see. Quick sum up until tomorrow.

I got my loan! I applied for another one and didn't tell anyone. I didn't want to jinx it! But I got it!! -=does a dance=-

I have started my first pair of socks! I used Red Heart Sport for them. The original yarn was definitely too slippery. I am pretty much just knitting a test pair and then I will knit a real pair. I want to see what problems I run into.

Oh and I finished the calorimetry. Miss Pounce is now the proud owner!

Actually, my first pair of socks were knit in red heart babysoft. That way I could knit them on size #1- #3 needles and I wasn't paying a lot of money. I did a practice sock in worsted weight first that way I could learn the dreaded heel turn. It was so confusing at first. But when I realized that "turn" in the instructions actually meant "turn work" it was a cinch. I like you sock holders. :D

The Horcrux socks were easy to me. I had a bit of a time with the first one because I would mess up making the lightning bolt, but my second sock I made in two days. But it's too big on me! I have size 7 feet, made it with simply soft on size 6s.
