First off, Thank you Secret Pal! I am loving everything in my package. I am planning on looking around for a nice sock pattern. I haven't tried socks yet so I think it would be fun! I love the notecards and the notebook too! Grim also chimed in and said that you have an eye for pretty things! Here's pictures!

Here's a better shot of the yarn. I must admit my photography skills suck.

I actually just got off my local library website. I went a little crazy and put 13 books on order/hold for myself. Including the Charmed: Harry Potter knits. I mentioned it to Grim and he did not share my enthusiam on the subject. I don't think I am going to go all balls out and knit myself a Harry Potter jump suit or anything but I do think a pair of socks and a scarf would be cute. Unfortunately my local library does not carry either of the Punk Knits Books. There's Punk Knits and Pretty in Punk. I seriously had to supress my urge to impulse buy. They're on Amazon for $23.00 which is neither a good price or a bad one in my opinion. Then again, I rarely have money like that to blow. I also don't want to run out and buy them without seeing both of them. I have seen the Punk Knits book and it's cute, but I don't know if I would pay full price for it. The other one, I am really interested in.

On to the next topic.. Mother's day. I decided that I really liked the idea of knitting up washcloths and handtowels for my mothers. I have three. My mom (M1), my stepmom(M2) and Grim's mom(M3). So I went out today and got M1 and M3's yarn. M2's handtowel is already on the needles. Here are some pictures of the said yarn purchased and some in action shots.

The second to last skein is actually a deep navy blue, however my camera didn't want to see it that way. The green tones are for M3 and the blues are for M1. I hope they like them. I am also going to head over to the mall this weekend and get them all smell good products from bath and body works. Apparently M3 also wants a clock so I'll go look for one of those too.
Here's the action shots:

It's turning out really pretty. Can you tell I like basketweave ? -=giggle=- Anyways, it looks almost indian tapestry. It's very pretty. Unfortunately this idea didn't pop into my head sooner. I called all the mom's and let them know that their presents are going to be a little late. This is not suprising by any means, my presents usually are a little late.

So, the book review. It's going to be quick because I think everyone but me has read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was a really cute book and a quick read. The second movie was actually closer to the book than the first one is (even though I prefer Gene Wilder). It was just a really cute story. I think I am going to read Charlie and the Glass Elevator soon. I want to see where it goes from there. However, right now I am still reading the final book in the Warhammer trilogy. I am going to try to get that read this weekend. I want to start on my list.

Other than that, I can't recall anything new that has been going on lately. I am set up for the Fall semester. I finally got all my Financial Aid taken care of. For now, all is well.

Nice sock yarn. :) The Charlie movie, the first one...scared the crap out of me as a kid. I had no desire to see the second movie either. :p

Nice yarn. Is is KnitPicks? I can't quite tell. Love the checkered effect the basket weave pattern has. Just remember, its OK to go crazy at the library. It while in the bookstore that you don't want to lose your self restraint.

Oh wow, that yarn is gorgeous! Socks are actually easier than you think. What threw me off was the turn heel. LOL..then I realized they actually meant turn entire work. Once you start though, they're really addicting.

I saw the movie Charlie and the Chocolate factory when I was younger. I liked it actually, it wasn't until Marylin Manson's video that I actually realized how creepy it was.
