Swap Dilemma
Friday, October 30, 2009
When it comes to swaps, I like to stick to a theme rather than just throwing random finds in a box. It makes it a bit harder, but it's well worth it in the end. I also don't like to buy a lot of things. I want to use it as an opportunity to create something new.

This swap, is seriously causing me grief though. I don't know if I'm just uninspired, but I can't think of a single thing that correlates with her favorite play (Twelfth Night). Maybe it's because it's a comedy and I personally enjoy the tragedies (Ex: Titus, My favorite play ever).

I did get this a while back. It was my one "general buy" that I allow myself for these things because it was too pretty and everyone needs a calendar. -=giggle=-

Any thoughts on crafty ideas related to the 12th Night? My artistic friends out there, please loan me your inspiration because I'm stumped.

Lace Knitting
Saturday, October 17, 2009
How in the world do people knit those intricate lace pattern shawls?! I'm doing an easy pattern and I'm already bored out of my mind.

Something I didn't take into consideration is that the larger the shawl gets the less it's going to stripe. Hopefully it doesn't look like crap, but I'm pushing on and deciding from there.

Next items to be on the needles:

1. Hat
2. Shrug

Progress pictures to be posted soon!

Next on the Needles!
Saturday, October 10, 2009
In honor of my favorite movie in the world, I'm making this.

With this:

It will be done by April 2010 when I, warily, go and see the remake of Nightmare on Elmstreet. Hopefully this knits up well, I've been trying to figure out what to do with this yarn for a while now. I'll post progress pictures as it knits up!

Knit..Knit..Knit
Saturday, October 3, 2009
I have fallen madly in love with knitting these fingerless gloves! It's a fast, instant gratification sort of project and the color combos are endless. With that thought in mind, I wrote to the designer last week about making a couple of pairs and selling them. She was thrilled to know that I loved her pattern that much and she gave her consent! For right now, I'm only planning on making a couple of pairs to throw on the Hellions merch booth. I've also got a couple of derby girls dying to get a pair that are in team colors. So I cast a pair on.. Here's what they look like prior to seaming:

My seaming needs ALOT of work so I'm taking them to Trumpet Hill tomorrow for a lesson. I'll post pictures when they are finally complete.

Also, fresh off the needles.. The Jeckyl and Hyde hat:

This was knitted up for my Tim Burton Swap partner. I hope she likes it! The pattern was easy to knit up but, should I make it again, I think I'm going to shorten it abit. It just seemed a little too long to be able to roll up nicely.

On the note of the Tim Burton swap, look at all the goodies I got yesterday!

Great package, eh?! I'm particularly happy with the blood choker! It's too cute!

Next on the knitting needles:

1. Another pair of fingerless gloves - Bright pink bottom and neon green body.
2. And this little hat. It's too cute.

Alrighty, I'm all out of things to write about. Happy Knitting!

P.S. My English Lit. teacher lets me knit in her class. It's awesome!!
