Weekend Goodness
Monday, May 28, 2007
I have been a little slow with my postings lately. -=giggle=- Oh well, better late than never I suppose. So this weekend has been a busy but wonderful weekend. Friday came and went at work. I was still busy but for the most part I got everything but the stack of filing done. Friday night was game night and as usual it was a lot of fun. I am not playing the character the way that I want to though, so I need to make adjustments to my RPGing skills. Saturday Grim and I woke up early and went to my mom's house. My grandparents came up from Ohio for the weekend so we decided to go to Lake George and spend the day. It was beautiful! I loved hanging out with my Grandparents and it's always amazing to see their witty sense of humor that I have also adopted. The first store we hit in a series of little shops along the strip is a painting store. Mom is browsing for different paintings to put up on her walls. I started flipping through the clearance area for something that catched my eye. Then I found this...

Meet the newest addition to my art collection. Grim got a kick out of the fact I found it. Actually his exact words, "Leave it to you to find something like that." It was only 20 dollars but I have gotten frugal in my age so I was turning the idea around in my head for a while. My grandma walks up and looks at me, "I'll get it for you."

Color Me Stunned.

So she bought it for me, "compliments of the casino." She one a couple of hundred so she was all happy and paying for little things for everyone. So I put that in the car and we walked so more. Grim, Boogie (My brother, Larry), His friend Zack and I went into a haunted wax museum. It was pretty standard, but there were three awesome parts that I want to share. The first, bodies in body bags hanging from the cieling of a corridor you have to go through, when you step on the floor about halfway in, they all start twitching. Yep, I yelped like a girl. The second thing, a mirror room with strobe lights. Very disorienting but cool. The third, a tunnel that spins around a stationary ladder. The tunnel is littered with stars and it makes you feel like you're going around a circles. Zack got so dizzy he ran headfirst into a wall. We all laughed, including him. The day goes on, lots of laughs and window shopping. My mom bought me a bell anklet. After I while Grim and I got tired so we went in the general direction of him. Stopped by Hollywood video and they had a 4 for 30 dollars sale. So we bought Children of Men, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Pursuit of Happiness and Descent. We also got a video game Grim has been hunting for. Then home for games and Chinese food. Yesterday we lounged and napped. Then we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3. GREAT MOVIE!!!

Then of course Knitting!! I finished my Stepmom's set of dishcloths (see completed list to the right). I started working on the nightgown but didn't get far. I was so tired I screwed up the pattern so I frogged and I am going to start again when I am a little more concious. I also have to hunt for patterns for more washcloths. I want to find a nice one for my mom's set. I also have to start on the Calorimetry for Grim's sister. I think I am going to cast on sometime this week for that one.

Today, I am going to hang out and go for a walk with a friend of mine. That's about it really dears.

Talk to you soon!

Sigh, Work, Knitting and Misc.
Thursday, May 24, 2007
First, The Sigh Baby... The vet called when I was on my way home from work and Grim got the call. The result came back and the mass was Andocarcinoma. Which, after hunting for it, I can't find anything immediately on it. It's malignant. That's the bad news. The good news is, is that they say they got it all. There was no malignant cells in the facial tissue around the mass. So with a little luck it should all be well. Problem is that once you have cancer, you have a better chance of getting it back. Time will tell, but for the moment, all is well. -=giggle=- I rhymed.

Work.. for lack of a better word.. Sucks. -=giggle=- Just at the moment. It will get better but I seriously got ambushed with an overload of things I have to do solo because my boss is going to be on vacation. The filing will easily take me three hours alone and that's if the phone doesn't ring and if my boss doesn't drop more reports on my desk.

Knitting.. I have finished the handtowel and one washcloth. I am working on the last washcloth for my stepmom before I dig into the set for my mother. No towel, it takes to long and it just annoys me to do the same thing over and over again. I went to the library and checked out the Harry Potter knitting book. It's cute, not much in the way of adult wear but that's to be expected. I plan on making myself a scarf, the socks and a sweater.

On the topic of knitting: Do you think a knitted bikini would actually hold up in water ? I want to knit a bikini from Naughty Needles (the hawaiin one) but I don't want to make it if I can't swim in it. Input ?

Video Games, I went out and bought 2 Harry Potter video games lastnight. The Chamber of Secrets and The Quiditch World Cup game. I looove Harry Potter games, videos, anything really. I have been on a kick lately considering I am listening to the Goblet of Fire on my Ipod pretty much everytime I get the chance too. I also Got the 1st and Last Harry Potter movies. Then of course, Dawn of the Dead. Can't go wrong, Harry Potter and Zombies. -=giggle=-

So there might be the possibility that my mom is going to take me on a cruise next year for my birthday. She knows how much I love traveling. She also knows, I have been dying to go on a cruise since she went on one. So I started looking around, then out of the blue the Stitch'n' Bitch cruise line email gets dropped into my In-Box. I checked it out and ran it past mom. She wants me to call and see what the total amount would look like. She also wants to make sure it's not an "Old Lady Cruise". I doubt it is but I am going to mention the question to the attendant when I call for more information tomorrow. It would be a lot of fun. The bonus to this one, is we wouldn't have to pay for airfare. It ships out of NYC! I am keeping my hopes level though. I never get excited until the day it's supposed to happen. Pessimism at it's best. -=giggle=-

Um.. Blank...

I know there is more I wanted to say but now I can't think of it. That's okay though, I have a three day weekend to think about it and write it all down. I am also going to be updating the buttons and pictures then too. I don't have time at the moment. I have to write up a background for my character, then it's off to bed.

Saturday To Now
Sunday, May 20, 2007
Yesterday was Grim's brother's College Graduation, I was going to stay at home because I was worried about Sigh. After noticing the fact that all he was doing was sleeping, I decided to go. It was so great seeing him up there getting his Economics Degree. He also graduated with honors so he was asked to give a speech. It was well written and he did a wonderful job in presenting it.

Following that all of us. Grim, His mom, dad, grandparents and sister filed into our apartment and we hung out until we could go to the resteraunt for our reservations. So at around 8:15 pm we sat down at this lovely Italian place. The food was magnificient, on a level I will never be able to describe in print. Everything was absolutely delicious! I had a veal dish that was amazing. I had never eaten veal before and I wanted to give it a try. For desert, my favorite, coffee and cannolis.. The devil couldn't make a better desert to entice me with. It was wonderful. It's a family run place called Cafe' Italia, if you're ever in Albany, New York. Look it up, it's wonderful. It's pricey but well worth the money.

Afterwards, Grim and I came home and hung out until bed.

This morning I got the main things I wanted to get done out of the way. I cleaned out my clothes and took them to the Goodwill. I picked up a couple of sweaters that I could try recycling for the yarn and found another White Wolf book for Grim and Animal Farm for myself . Then to the book store. Having seen Fitted Knits, I can honestly say that I will probably never own the book. There are few things I can actually see myself wearing. I mean I think I liked two patterns, but that's not enough for a 30 dollar book. I did see another book I am DYING to have. It's Knitting Lingerie Style by Joan McGowan-Michael. The patterns are beautiful! I didn't get it even though I wanted to. I thought I would pull it out of the library and see how many patterns I liked out of it before I bought it. Then I went to the library. I got the new Type O Negative album. I have only heard one song, so I am not sure if it is listen worthy yet. I also pulled out another knitting book that I am going to flip through soon.

Then I came home and set to my task. I have to learn a little more. I ended up screwing up a sleeve and a half but I got enough out of it I think. Here's a picture...

Then, of course, Mr. Sigh wanted to see what I was up to. Here are a couple of pictures.

Isn't he adorable! -=giggle=- He's doing really well now. He isn't as sedated, so he's been enjoying being home again. We find out in about 9 to 10 days exactly what the removed from his face. I pray it's not malignant. That's about it for now... I started One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest today, it sort of stinks since I know how it's going to end but I am pushing on. I have heard from many that it is a great book. So I wanted to give it the chance it deserves.

Sigh Is Home!! (Warning: Stitches Pictures)
-=does a dance=- My baby is home and he is soo happy to be here. I didn't get the opportunity to post again after I got out of work. I called the Vet at about 3:15 pm yesterday and he had just gotten out of surgery. They said he had done really well and that he should be able to go home tonight granted that we can keep him quiet and calm. That made me nervous considering he gets a little bouncy and Kiya would definately try to pull at the stitches. So I thought on it for a while, talked to Grim about it and we decided to let him spend the night there.

Kiya was behaving really weird lastnight. Around 6pm at night she started tugging at her foot, growling and hissing. We checked her foot over and there wasn't anything visibly wrong. We thought maybe her nail was bothering her and she was just irritated in general. She was doing it when we got home after game at around 1 or so. So we're hoping it passes over and that she's not going mental.

I woke up this morning and went to the noon apointment. I had to wait a while but the moment I saw my Sigh my heart melted. He is so happy to be home. Although I don't know if Kiya is as happy to see him as we thought she was going to be. The usual bitchy atitude has been surfacing from her. Hissing, Growling, the works. So I am staying home with them today to make sure she doesn't bother his stitches and I am making sure he relaxes like he should.

Poooor Sigh! Then there is Kiya.. Look at her expression.

"I hate you."

I haven't been getting much knitting done but I probably will be doing it in overdrive later tonight and tomorrow. I really want to finish up a couple of things so I can cast on other projects.

I called at 12:30 pm. He's not even in surgery yet. I wouldn't be surprised if they kept him overnight. We'll see. More to come as I know it.

Today's the Day
Sigh is currently at the vet undergoing his procedure, to say I am a nervous mother would be an understatement. I know he'll probably be fine through the procedure but I am more worried about what the hell they're taking off him. What if it really is cancerous? You know, all the what if's of owning or raising anything pops in your head and drives you nuts. I would never be able to have children, I would have a heartattack thinking about abductions and pedophiles near bus stops. Thank God I am not having kids, I might live longer. -=giggle=-

So we'll see, I have to call them at 3 to get an update and be at the office by 4:15 for a visit to talk with the doctor. Hopefully all goes well and I can take him home with me tonight. If not, he has to stay there overnight for observation, which I would actually sort of prefer. You never know what could happen. I'll keep you updated.

On another note, I am very suprised at the RPG responses. Here I thought I was the lone gamer dork of the bunch. WOOT! We are out there. Which leads to the question.. Favorite System ? World of Darkness ? D&D ? Hackmaster ? Details dears, Details. My favorite so far has got to be Warhammer. Such a nitty gritty unhappy and brutal rpg. I love it when I am rolling right, I hate it when I am fumbling.

Speaking of Warhammer, I finished the 3rd novel lastnight. Finally!! I pretty much read from 8 to midnight though. -=giggle=- Needless to say, I really didn't want to get up this morning to take Sigh into the vet. I did and once the initial grogginess wore off I felt fine. I swear these meds are a dream come true, I genuinely have a happier disposition and it's refreshing, I hate being grumpy all the time. The book, was awesome and very very somber/depressing. I highly recomend the trilogy if you're interested in Fairytale/Science/Mediaval Fiction. I believe the author is Sandy Leonard in case you're interested. Next Book: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest from my list!

Oh, on a more interesting note. Yesterday I went to Dunkin Doughnuts for my usual Coffee and muffin. Handed them my Credit Card and took my coffee. He looked at me and told me their system was down. Of course, I have no cash. I go to hand them back the coffee and they tell me to keep it and just pay tomorrow. So I protest and then thank them once they tell me it's okay. I went back today and got the usual. The guy from the day before was working the window. He rang it up.. here's the conversation:
" You forgot to ring me up for yesterdays too."(Me)
" Oh yea you're right. What did you get again?"
" Medium Regular Coffee Extra Cream and Sugar and a Banana Nut Muffin."
He looked at me and said.. "You know we give a lot of people favors. Usual they never come back but when they do they usually lie about their order so they don't have to pay as much. I remember everyone and most of the orders I take on a regular basis, so I know they're lying but I don't say anything. You're the first person to come through and tell the truth and offer to give full payment. For your honesty, keep your money." I protested, because I know that comes out of someone's money. He wouldn't take it and I was taken aback by it. First of all, whatever happened to honesty? The guy could have been trying to hit on me, which I wouldn't notice flirting if it smacked me. It still remains that they have done it before and people have purposely avoided coming back or lied about their order. No wonder people are cynical, most people really are assholes. -=giggle=-

Okay, Long Blog and I need to work some. Talk to you all later.

Jan got her shawl in the mail today and she loves it! It fits perfectly, she adores the Lionbrand Homespun softness and colors! I also wrote her a note saying how important she is to me, and it made her cry. I wasn't trying to but I wanted her to know exactly what I thought about her.

I am so happy that Get Stitchy had the Knit for Chicks-Along. It gave me the opportunity to make something that she will really treasure. =)

Tonight we're hanging out and creating characters for the Cyberpunk setting we're running on Friday. It should be fun. I am playing a Corporate Fashionite that Interogates people for a living when she's not doing secret work for the Company. I know I am a dork! -=giggle=- What can I say, I love my RPG.

Next Project
I am lining them up it seems aren't I -=giggle=-. I am going to make another Calorimetry for a friend of mine. I am going to try and make it with this.

Isn't it beautiful? I traded with the wonderful Nan for it and I got sooo many skeins. I was a little taken aback by how much I got for the item I sent her. It is Tibetan Recycled Sari Silk Yarn from Dreamwoven. It is a little tough and a bit of a difficult yarn to work with but look how beautiful it looks. I am going to have to adjust my needle size though to get the right guage. I am positively loving this whole swatching business. It takes more time, but at least you know you're doing it right. -=giggle=-

I think that's basically it for now.

Thanks everyone for the comments on the pictures. =)

Sunday (Warning: Image Heavy)
Sunday, May 13, 2007
Here's my Sunday For the Masses. There is a Festival that goes on around this time every year called the Tulip Festival. I mentioned it in my previous blog, because I was cursing about the lack of parking available. Anyways, I decided that since I had never been that I should go and check it out. So that's what I did. It's what I expected really. A shit load of people in a little space with overpriced stalls and food. However, I love that sort of thing. I love festivals and stalls. I love browsing. I do not like pushing my way through crowds so I did a couple of laps to cover everything before I skipped on out of there. I am proud of myself, I only spent 2$ on a lemonade, which is my guilty pleasure at fairs. Well because it was the Tulip Festival, I decided I wanted some shots of the new flowers they planted this year. This is my shot at photography. Let me know what you think please.

I named this one "Wonderland". It reminds me of when Alice meets the talking flowers. I don't know why I decided to name them. It is not my usual thing but hey, it gives them personality.
"Passion and Love." The vibrant red made me think of Passion and Lust. The single Pink reminded me of Love intermingled with that.

"Strength" The wind was blowing hard but these guys were seriously unbending.

"Heaven" I took the shot, not knowing what it was going to look like. When I went in to review it struck me that it's entirely peaceful and calm. So it got the name Heaven.

"Innocence". I know it looks like a Halmark Card but she was too cute. She wasn't interested in any of the children's activities. She wasn't paying attention to anything else other than the flowers. She went through and looked/smelled everything single color of flower.

It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it but I was happy my house was right acrossed the street so I could run to safety. The rest of my day was pretty laid back. Video games and knitting then a movie. First off, the knitting.
I need some help. I don't know if I am doing this damn Garterlac Cloth right or not. I am confused on where the hell I should pick up the stitches for the second square. Have a look. Tell me if this is messed up or not.

It just looks weird to me. So I am taking a break on it until I get some feedback. In other knitting news, I am done with my first ball of yarn for my Stepmom's Handtowel. Here's the progress:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I love it, the camera really didn't capture how beautiful the colors are though. I'll post a better one on the progress button.

Now the movie: 28 Week Later. It was alright. Would I go see it in a theatre? Probably not. I liked the zombies as per usual. I liked the characters. The first scene was incredible but overall it was predictable. It was also rushed and a smack in the face to the first one. I mean seriously, the first one was awesome! The second one, if you decide to do one, should at least be original. Alas, it was lacking. I liked it but it was not fantastic. Next movie I have to see in the theatres. Harry Potter, and the Order of the Pheonix. Yeaahh!

Wow, I wrote a novel and I still feel like I am forgetting something. Oh well. More to write tomorrow.

Friday & Saturday
So I was kind of in a bad mood on Friday. I didn't feel like being at work, didn't want people asking me to do things. You know the usual mentality of the working class. I ended up going to the cig store and forgetting my wallet so I had to drive the 15 minutes back to work, then go back up there. Essentially my entire lunch to get a pack of cloves because I don't smoke regular cigs.

I get back to work and I get a call from Grim. Sigh's face is bleeding. You see, the last time we went to the vet for the urinary issue the vet went ahead and removed a skin tag on his face. Well last week we noticed there was a huge spot where that used to be that was scabbed over. We didn't think much of it, we just tried to keep him from scratching it. Then yesterday, I guess Grim was petting him and when he brought his hand up it was bloody. So I call my boss, who is wonderful by the way, and tell her my situation and I go home. We take Sigh to the vet and discover it's a growth. They won't know what exactly it is (translation: if it's cancer or not) until they remove it and run tests. So we get some antibiotics/steroids so that we can reduce the irritation and inflammation and 81 dollars later we're on our way. I spoke with the clerk and apparently this operation to
remove it could easily run around 300$... Yikes eh?

We're going to do it, because it's a gross and terrible growth. What else can we do ? We want our little boy to be healthy. He does weigh 18 lbs, so the vet mentioned he is a little overweight. What can we do ? He's actually on a diet. -=giggle=- So I came home and took a nap. The rest of the night we hung out with Mistress Pounce and played games. Dinner gave me an upset stomach so I called the night a little early.

Saturday - Eterlac Knitting Class! I get up and get ready. I don't get lost this time and I am the first one through the door. The lady asks me if I am into crocheting and I tell her, no I have no idea how to do it. She brings over a box and tells me to look through it and take what I like. Apperantly a lady had just passed away and she used to crochet, so her family brought her stuff to the knitting store. I picked up 4 really cute doileys (sp?). Then I wandered over to this basket that said old patterns. I hit pay dirt and I only had to make a donation. I put a couple of bucks in there and bought my yarn. Enterlac is a little more difficult than I thought. I still don't think that I am doing the pattern right so I think I am going to frog and go through it again.

The only bad part about the day so far is the stupid festival in the park acrossed the street. I love fairs and gatherings, I hate living acrossed the street from one when you have NO lot parking. So I h ad to go around the block three or four times until I saw a spot open up and I nabbed it. THANK GOD! What should have taken 2 minutes took nearly 15 to 20 minutes. Sometimes, I just can't wait to move in the summer.

That's about it really. We're going to Grim's mom's house for his sister and mother's birthday. Probably eating dinner and hanging out for a while. Then home again. Tomorrow I am planning on getting some major cleaning done. Time to throw out the old stuff in the closet.

Anyways, here are some pictures!

And of course it's crocheting. -=pout=- I curse you Lionbrand! Why put out something, so cute for crocheters and something soo sooo frumpy looking for knitters.
Okay -=giggle=- I just wanted to rant about that. Or mention my dissapointment rather. Gotta go work.

A little help here.
Wednesday, May 9, 2007
Okay so I am thinking about knitting the Lolita Stockings with the yarn my Secret Pal got me. Now... first question: Do you think the socks will look right with the colorway ? Second Question: In the pattern when it refers to gauge. What the hell is this ?!?!

GAUGE
20 sts/??? rows = 4" in stockinette stitch

Like seriously, could they have been any less of a help here.

Anyone know of any cute long sock patterns that are easy ? I don't like short socks and I have only one pair of ankle socks that I wear when all the laundry is dirty.

Gifts and Washclothes.
Tuesday, May 8, 2007
First off, Thank you Secret Pal! I am loving everything in my package. I am planning on looking around for a nice sock pattern. I haven't tried socks yet so I think it would be fun! I love the notecards and the notebook too! Grim also chimed in and said that you have an eye for pretty things! Here's pictures!

Here's a better shot of the yarn. I must admit my photography skills suck.

I actually just got off my local library website. I went a little crazy and put 13 books on order/hold for myself. Including the Charmed: Harry Potter knits. I mentioned it to Grim and he did not share my enthusiam on the subject. I don't think I am going to go all balls out and knit myself a Harry Potter jump suit or anything but I do think a pair of socks and a scarf would be cute. Unfortunately my local library does not carry either of the Punk Knits Books. There's Punk Knits and Pretty in Punk. I seriously had to supress my urge to impulse buy. They're on Amazon for $23.00 which is neither a good price or a bad one in my opinion. Then again, I rarely have money like that to blow. I also don't want to run out and buy them without seeing both of them. I have seen the Punk Knits book and it's cute, but I don't know if I would pay full price for it. The other one, I am really interested in.

On to the next topic.. Mother's day. I decided that I really liked the idea of knitting up washcloths and handtowels for my mothers. I have three. My mom (M1), my stepmom(M2) and Grim's mom(M3). So I went out today and got M1 and M3's yarn. M2's handtowel is already on the needles. Here are some pictures of the said yarn purchased and some in action shots.

The second to last skein is actually a deep navy blue, however my camera didn't want to see it that way. The green tones are for M3 and the blues are for M1. I hope they like them. I am also going to head over to the mall this weekend and get them all smell good products from bath and body works. Apparently M3 also wants a clock so I'll go look for one of those too.
Here's the action shots:

It's turning out really pretty. Can you tell I like basketweave ? -=giggle=- Anyways, it looks almost indian tapestry. It's very pretty. Unfortunately this idea didn't pop into my head sooner. I called all the mom's and let them know that their presents are going to be a little late. This is not suprising by any means, my presents usually are a little late.

So, the book review. It's going to be quick because I think everyone but me has read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was a really cute book and a quick read. The second movie was actually closer to the book than the first one is (even though I prefer Gene Wilder). It was just a really cute story. I think I am going to read Charlie and the Glass Elevator soon. I want to see where it goes from there. However, right now I am still reading the final book in the Warhammer trilogy. I am going to try to get that read this weekend. I want to start on my list.

Other than that, I can't recall anything new that has been going on lately. I am set up for the Fall semester. I finally got all my Financial Aid taken care of. For now, all is well.

Lazy Day
I love Sundays. Something about lounging around in your pajama's is heavenly. I also enjoy being the only one up in the morning and doing a hostile take over of the computer. -=giggle=- Today I think I am going to do little things around the house, knit and relax. I might run out to Michaels to get some more yarn. I am knitting up some washclothes and handtowels for the mother's in my life. I figure that, and a nice little bag of different smell good things should be fine. In other knitting news, I have swatched for that stupid nightgown twice now. I am all the way down to 3" when the pattern calls for 5" needles. If the 3" inch doesn't gauge up right, I am thinking I might need to buy some different yarn or something. We'll see, and I am sure I will post about it. -=giggle=-

In other news, my last day of class was Thursday. Final Assignment: Create a Utopia (Group Project). First off, I hate group projects with all of me. I am always the one getting shafted with the majority of the work. So I wasn't incredibly enthused when I heard this assignment. It was a little difficult. The day I went to class to get assigned my group was the day of the terrible tooth pain. So I stayed, threw some ideas around at them and then left. It took me until Wed to get their reports for the powerpoint. When was it due you ask ? Thursday. So I end up pulling the entire powerpoint presentation out of my ass and waiting to see what happened. 2 of the 4 of us dressed up professional, which is my fault, the idea was last minute. We were 2nd to last to present. The other ones were decent, but not professional and not serious. Ours, I was proud of ours. I was the introduction, and I set the tone for the rest of the presentation. The others followed suit and they spoke loudly, did not stammer and were well together with what they were supposed to do.

I was proud. The audience wasn't sure about our Utopia though. -=giggle=- Here's a sample: Pregnancy License, Mandatory Birthcontrol shots if you do not have one, Thermo-Mentality Scanning (fiction) that will tell us if you are likely to rebel so we can give you the appropriate medications, Conditioning for Criminals. We're talking Demolition Man meets Clockwork Orange. -=giggle=- I don't think my group realized how many movies I have seen on the subject. So I was talking to my teacher after class and she started going on and on about how great the group was. It turns out, my group and one other group were her experiment groups. She wanted to see, if with a strong leader some of these people could come out of their shell. My group was one of those experiments and I was nominated strong leader. Heh. Go figure! -=giggle=- I was pleased with myself but I told her that essentially all I did was give them a guideline they had to follow. The powerpoint. I told them this is how it's got to be done, this is your part, etc. and they did it. She was still impressed and praising me all the way to the parking lot.

Friday night was game night and we went back to the Warhammer system. -=does a dance=- I love that system and I love the characters. Although I was definately way to tired to RPG accurately. It was still alot of fun though. Saturday we went over to our friend Paul's house for Grindhouse movie night. Basically the worst B horror movies created. -=giggle=- We watched The Toxic Avenger, awesome for what it was. I had never seen it before. Nightmare City, I didn't like so much. I wanted to go to sleep. Ilsa Queen of the SS or something like that.. I didn't like at all. Will and I sparred in the kitchen. He got a really good hit against my stomach and a couple of good face shots but I returned them. Considering I haven't sparred with anyone in years, I don't think I did to bad. Although I have no doubt in my mind that if I should continue to spar with him, he'd beat me up pretty easily. Oh well, all's fun until someone loses and eye. Lastnight, I did not lose an eye so all was fun. Cloves, Alcohol, Friends and Movies.. Fun times were had by many.

That's about it, although I want to tell you about my Goodwill find. I walked in looking for a library book that I think I gave away to Goodwill (oops) and ended up coming out with 7 other books. I hit the jackpot. Poppy Z Brite's Exquisite Corpse, 4 Dark Erotica Books, The Awakening by Kate Chopin, and A Wraith anathology. Grim grabbed a book called Dantes that has to do with creatures trying to escape hell. Despite this pay dirt of books, I did not find the library one, so the search continues.

I think that's about it, I am probably missing something.. Oh, the book review. I'll do that later.

A Break Would Be Nice Here
Tuesday, May 1, 2007
So if you have been a frequent flyer or if you go back a couple of posts you will note that I had a seriously painful weekend with an absessed tooth. Well I made an appointment and saw the dentist yesterday. This is what happened. He looked at the place I pointed and said. That can't be absessed because it's already had a root canal. I said, well there is something wrong with it then because it still hurts like hell. Him: Okay then, I'll take an X-ray. He takes the X-ray and while it's developing we shoot the shit. He comes back with "I was afraid of that." This is what he said. Apparantly the cracked out dentist I saw in Ohio ( we had really terrible insurance at one point) did a root canal and left 1/4 of the root which is now infected and absessed!!! What the hell ?!?! Seriously, I can't believe that guy did that to me. It's also to late for a lawsuit, or at least to get my money back. Grrr.. So now I have to go and see an Endodontist.. but guess what, I have no dental. So I have to sit and suffer until I figure out a way to get insurance.

Blegh...

That's it for now. I will try and post a more positive and uplifting blog later.
